Italy I recently flew out of Genoa, ITALY. The bus from the TRAIN station to the airport amazingly takes unboxed bikes in the passenger area, but that was at a very uncrowded hour. it was great. Alitalia required boxes for the bikes, but did not charge extra. You could also ride to the airport through some gritty and congested areas. No boxes are available at the airport. There is no left luggage at the airport (discontinued recently due to security concerns).
